A motion which gets repeated after a regular interval of time is called the periodic motion

Example:

1. The earth completes one round about the sun in nearly 365 days and this motion is repeated after every 365 days.
2. The moon revolves around the earth and completes one round in nearly 27 days and then repeats its motion.
3. For a normal person heart beats every 0.8 second.
4. The pendulum of a wall clock repeats its motion after every 2s.
5. The motion of the needle of a sweing machine the movement of membrane of tabla when played.
